Immature Soap Opera Reaction

  • Apr. 10th, 2008 at 8:14 PM

[Thanks to Kelly for the title ;) ]

Everyone reading this entry will be in for a good laugh. :D

So, I got an email from my mother on Monday. Although, I only read it Tuesday because I was at Stefan's house on Monday and didn't get a chance to check my email. The subject of the email was 'Wake Up'. I knew I was in for a good read instantly. XD So, the email was rather long but very enjoyable to read. It started off with how disrespectful she thinks I've been to adults and such. She goes on to talk about Stefan and our situation and how fast she thought I went into the relationship and all. And how I'm being stupid and irresponsible about certain things.

Before I continue with the next part of the email, I have to explain what happened last week. So, I was on Facebook and I discovered that my mom had gotten Facebook. O_O Woah. Anyways, like the next day or something, my dad told me he had been talking to my mom. And he told me she had logged onto Jo Ann's account (she's one of my friends on Facebook) and looked at the pictures from the toga party I went to a couple of weeks ago. And apparantly, I look drunk in the pictures. O_O Ya, I don't drink. And I wouldn't have that night anyways because I had a headache, and most probably a fever. Then I took drugs for it and that wouldn't have gone well with alcohol. Anyways, so, I was a little upset that my mom went on to someone's account just to see pictures of me. Oh, and she made a comment that Stefan looked like a girl. Which pissed both me and Stefan off. Gah. So, I go on Facebook and take off Doug and Jo Ann. So, like last Thursday or Friday or something, I get a call from my mom. Facebook came up and I told her I knew what she did. And then I informed her that I removed Doug and Jo Ann. She got upset at me that I wasn't going to add her on Facebook. She hung up pissed. Lol.

So, the last part in the email she sent me was about Facebook. She told me that I had until Tuesday night to re-add Doug or I would experience serious consequences. Um, ok. So, I would get in trouble for not re-adding him to Facebook? In my reply to her, I told her it was my Facebook, not hers or Doug's and that I would choose who were my friends on it. And none of them were going to be my friends. I also talked about the fact that I was not drunk at the toga party. And I told her why I don't drink. Because of Doug and her. That they are both alcoholics, whether they admit it or not, and that I don't want to turn into them. I thanked her for setting me that example.

I also mentioned in my reply that just because my mom and Doug are adults, doesn't mean that they deserve respect. just because you're older than someone, doesn't mean you deserve more respect than someone else. Age doesn't matter.

Oh, and at the end of her email, she mentioned that I shouldn't piss anyonre off, especially those that took me in (aka Doug). And that I should be more respectful towards him for all he's done for me. Okay, yes, thank you for taking me in but no one should EXPECT anything in return for doing something. You should do something because you want to, not because you expect something good in return. That's just wrong thinking. And my mom also mentioned how easy of a life I had living with Doug and all. And I replied basically with a no way in hell was it easy. I had to put up with both Doug and my mom arguing and swearing at each other for hours each night, even though I had to wake up early for school the next day. Ya, easy? No.

So, since Tuesday, I was waiting to get a reply in my email from my mother. Nothing. And when I got back from school today, I found out that she had been trying to call our house. So, sometime in the afternoon, my dad talked to her. When he finished, after like 30 minutes, I went to talk to him to see what she said. Get ready for the best part of this entry. Make sure you're not drinking anything because you might spit it out from laughter. :D

So, basically, I'm like dad, what did she say? He replied that I can get my work shirt and throw it out. Because I was fired. O_O I then asked my dad if my mom had mentioned why my mom got me fired. My dad said that she had nothing to do with me getting fired. That it was Doug that got me fired because I didn't re-add him on Facebook. Ok, so, get this. Because I didn't add Doug, a 40+ year old man who's my boss, I got fired from my job. Ya. Try to understand that. Who the hell does that? Lol. I couldn't stop laughing when I found out. How immature do you have to be to do that? Lmao. It's a freakin' social networking site and because I didn't want to have him as my friends, I was fired. Wow, just wow. That's stooping down to some stupid level, isn't it? I'm still in shock what happened and this happened like 4 hours ago. Oh, and there's more. My dad also told me that he was told that I was not allowed to go to Florida. Lmao. Um, that's 100% fine with me because I had enough bullshit to go through last time I went at Christmas. There was no way I was going back again. Lol. Wow, such immaturity! Lmao. Omg, I can't stop laughing. And I've been smiling like all evening since I found out. ^_^

After I finished talking with my dad, I went back up to my room and told Stefan everything that he said. He had a great laugh along with me and totally agreed that Doug was a huge baby. XD And then after supper, I told Kelly about it and I believe I put a smile on her face as well. And wait till I tell people at the lockers next week. I'm sure everyone will have a good laugh. I've already had two people comment to me on Facebook about it since I've changed my status update to the following: Lindsay got fired from her job because she didn't add her boss on Facebook O_O and is laughing along with Kelly.

Wow, I haven't felt this good in a long time. Well, besides when I'm with Stefan. *heart*

Mac joke

  • Feb. 25th, 2008 at 4:45 PM
Here's another joke from a newsletter:

Buy a Mac

I was just having a conversation with someone who is about to buy a Mac.

I was against it and an argument started.

I said there were too few people supporting the Mac.

He responded, "When was the last time you heard of a virus on a Mac?"

And I said "See, even people who write viruses don't support Macs."

Robotics Competition

  • Feb. 24th, 2008 at 9:08 PM
I would have written this entry last night, but I was completely wiped. Anyways, so, Friday, I decided that I wanted to go to the Robotics competition on Saturday to support Kelly and Vanier. When I get to work that night, I asked my manager if it was alright that I don't come in Saturday and she was fine with it. Yay! So, I spent like an hour when I got home from work trying to figure out how to get to College Laval.

Saturday morning... I got up at 7:15. Left around 30 minutes later. Just as I got to the bus stop, the 22 arrived. Phew. Went all the way to the Ste-Therese train station and then got off. Went on the 9 bus heading to Montmorency. Then, I decided to take the 50 bus at Montmorency because I wouldn't have had enough time to take the metro to Cartier to take the other buses. So, like 15 minutes later, I finally arrived at the stop in front of College Laval.

I walked around for a bit. About 10-15 minutes later, Kelly arrived! And the fun began, lol. So, we checked out our kiosk and then we headed over to the gym where the competition was taking place. We met up with Myles, Dan, and a bunch of other people. We cheered... and the start of us losing our voices began. XD

Before 12, Vanier had been eliminated. Yup. And the supper/dance was only at 6. Kelly and I then realised we had to wait 6 hours. O_O But, we somehow entertained ourselves till then. We ate lunch... 2 slices of Dominoe's Pizza for each of us. Then, we played some DDR at a school's kiosk.. Omg, Kelly, I just remembered that highschool kid hitting on us! Lmao. Ummm, we then played StepMania on Myles' laptop. (Kelly, I've downloaded the game onto my computer... Lindsay is addicted! XD) Ummmm. Oh! Kelly and I also went onto Facebook at these computers that were there. Yup... Hmmmm, what else did we do Kelly??? We watched the semi-finals and a bit of the finals. :O We also watched the very last match.. how Montmorency & ECS won the match at the very last second (literally). That was pretty awesome.

Oh! Since I'm not on the Vanier team (just an honorary member with a t-shirt!), I had to buy a ticket for the banquet. So, Kelly and I go up to the guy that's in charge of the tickets. We then hear over his walkie-talkie that Sacred Heart needs a ticket. We ask the guy for a ticket and he reveals that there's only two left and one was reserved for Sacred Heart. I was, luckily, able to buy the last ticket! Yay! I think it was the best $20 I've ever spent. *big grin*

So, after I get the ticket, Kelly and I go back to the kiosk and start taking it down. Around 6, we head to the entrance to the banquet. What feels like forever, we're finally let in. Food! We find our table, drop off our crap, and then head straight to the buffet before the lines get long. Pasta! Yum, yum. It was delicious. After a second helping, desert! And then at 7:30, we were rushed out, even though Kelly and I weren't finished.

We all went into the auditorium where the ceremony began. Awards were passed out. Omg, Kelly, I just remembered those girls that were so rude! Gah! Seriously, we should have taken my keys and gauged their eyes out.

After that, we all headed back to the gym where a local rock band, Truly Yours, was playing. At first, Kelly and I were just sitting on the bleachers. But then Myles and Darren came over and dragged us onto the "dance floor". For the next hour or so, every still left of Vanier danced on the side. It was awesome! And the band was great as well. I shall post the two pics I took later. [EDIT: Posted the pics! They aren't that great, but whatever.] Plus, they were hot, right, Kelly?

After the band finished, they played music, mostly techno/dance. I definitely worked off my two helpings of spaghetti and chocolate pudding. It was uber fun! Then, randomly, the CRC played clips from the past few days. Right in the middle of us all dancing. So, fianlly, like 10 minutes later, they put the music back on. Since the band was gone, lots of people went onto the stage and danced up there. That's what I did with Darren, Myles, and Dan. I wish I could have stayed there all night dancing with everyone! ^_^

Then, the guys had to leave so I walked to the front entrance. That's where I found Kelly, Shawn, and Sean. Thankfully, Kelly's dad was able to drive me home. I don't know if I would have even been able to get home if I had to take the 3 buses. I love your daddy, Kelly! ^_^

~Lindsay

P.S. I spent almost 12 hours with Kelly and the guys from Vanier. O_O That is one loooong day. Lol.

P.P.S. I can't wait to go clubbing in March with everyone, Kelly! :D I wants to dance again!

2 hours

  • Feb. 21st, 2008 at 10:38 PM
Weeee. Lindsay is functioning off of 2 hours of sleep. Lol. Weeeee.

*cough* Anyways. So, my first class was at 8 this morning. I get to school at 7:30 like usual. I walk to E5. Sit down on the floor and just listen to my music. My English teacher is usually late by 5-10 minutes so I wasn't too surprised when 8:05 rolled around and he hadn't arrived yet. But then 8:10 passed and then 8:15. After 15 minutes, if a teacher doesn't show up, we're allowed to leave. One or two students in my class leave. The rest of us stayed until 8:25. At that point, we all left. Later, I'm on Omnivox, and Shankman (the teacher) sent us an email message and here's an excerpt:

A teacher's worst fear! Or at least one of them happened this morning. I slept in and then thought my class was at 10 so I didn't rush. About to go to class at 10 I look at my schedule and my heart drops, "Oh no! it happened" My poor students who had to brave -18 degrees to get to class. My sincere apologies! I didn't plan this one.

I could have slept in an extra four hours! And today, Lindsay definitely needed it! XD

So, I headed to D. I knew Kelly's class started at 8:30. (Yes, Kelly, I'm a stalker and know where all your classes are! Mwahahaha!) Kelly asks if I want to come inside and I say sure. I really had nothing better to do. We talked for like 10-15 minutes before her class finally started. Me and Kelly had a good time! ^_^

Afterwards, I walked Kelly to her gym class. God, I had a three hour break today... Damn you, Shankman! Anyways, after I said goodbye to Kelly, I headed over to A3. I did the anthro homework I remembered I had last night that was to be done for 11:30. Around 11, Jessica showed up. We went down to the caf since I needed to buy lunch. I had poutine! :D

Had my anthro class at 11:30. It was pretty easy. We didn't do much and the teacher let us out like 20 minutes early. Yay! So, Lindsay texted Kelly and found out she was at the lockers. And so, I headed there. I had like 30 minutes before my next class so I hung our with everyone at the lockers! (Kelly, I just realised, the sticker that Jason gave me is still on my shirt, lol. *takes off*)

French was my last class. It was alright. We just went over the homework... which Lindsay didn't do. Lol. I just didn't feel like doing much today since I only had 2 hours of sleep.

Well, I think I'm gonna go to bed now. I need some sleep. Plus, I have a QM test tomorrow. But that will be easy, easy. I'm not even gonna bother studying for it. It's just standard deviation and such and Lindsay knows it. Right, Kelly? I wonder if Sandra understand my explanation for it yesterday though... lol.

P.S. The ending of Lost tonight was a huuuuge shocker. I needs to find someone who watches Lost, damn it, so I can discuss.

Fitness Appraisal

  • Feb. 21st, 2008 at 12:16 AM

Man, it's been an exhausting day!

So, I couldn't write an entry last night because I was studying like crazy for the psych test I had this morning.

Anyways, I guess I was late in getting ready this morning because I missed the 22 bus. I saw it pass by as I was walking up the road. Then, just as I'm getting to the bus stop, I hear what sounds like a bus behind me. I turn around and see the 17. Usually it only arrives like 10 minutes later. So, I start running for the bus stop but the bus driver honks the horn and lets me get on where I am. XD Nice guy.

I review for the psych test at the train station and on the train, even though I just wanted to close my eyes. 8:30. Test time! It was 65 questions, multiple choice. I think, by far, it was the easiest test I've taken this whole time at Vanier, considering it was 65 questions. I'm pretty sure I got them all right. There was maybe only one or two questions that I wasn't positive about but I think I got them right anyways. Can't wait to find out what I got!

Since I finished the test in like 30 minutes, I was able to see Sandra for a bit longer before my maps and mapping class. (Your favorite class, Kelly!) XD Anywho, got out like around 11:30ish. Found Sandra. We bought our lunch. I finally didn't get an end piece of garlic bread! Yay! ^_^ After we bought our lunch, we found an empty classroom and waited for Kelly to arrive. Lol, Kelly, I just remembered the soup that you bought! Cream of shit! Lmao. God, I love Sandra. *rolls eyes* Played hangman like usual. Yup, yup. It was nice to see you, Kelly. Sandra and I weren't by ourselves trying to entertain one another. Lol.

Then, after UB, was the wonderful fitness appraisal I was so looking forward to. Not! The only good thing was that we didn't have to walk outside like usual. So, we started off with a vertical jump, then um, side planks, and then grip strength. And then we switched gyms and went and did our 12 minute run. Which basically killed me and my gym buddy, Gavi. But, we were able to do 10 laps in 12 minutes. We were happy that we got into the double digits. XD Then, we did the sit-ups and push-ups. I do not like push-ups. And that's final. And then we went upstairs and measured our height, weight, waist, and hip. We then figured out our BMI (and I'm considered in the healthy range! Yay!) and our waist-to-hip ratio (and I ended up going into the high risk category. O_O ). And then we were done! ^_^

After I checked my email and such when I got home, I took a little nap. I was pooped. I think it was an hour long or something. Wasn't as bad as yesterday when I think I slept for like almost 3 hours. Lindsay is sleep-deprived.....

Oh, and for anyone that doesn't know, there was a total lunar eclipse tonight. And I was able to see it from my kitchen. It was freakin' awesome! You could even see Saturn. I tried taking a picture of the moon but my camera doesn't zoom in close enough for a good look. Oh well! It was amazing nonetheless. ^_^

Another joke!

  • Feb. 18th, 2008 at 10:55 PM
Here's another joke that I thought was funny. Enjoy!

Painting a Porch

Wanting to earn some money, Cletus decided to hire himself out as a handyman-type and started canvassing a wealthy neighborhood. He went to the front door of the first house and asked the owner if he had any jobs.

"Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?"

Cletus said, "How about 50 dollars?" The man agreed and told him that the paint and ladders that he might need were in the garage. The man's wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, "Does he realize that the porch goes all the way around the house?"

The man replied, "He should. He was standing on the porch."

A short time later, Cletus came to the door to collect his money. "You're finished already?" the man asked.

"Yes," Cletus answered, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats."

Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50. "And by the way," Cletus added, "that's not a Porch, it's a Ferrari."

Another week!

  • Feb. 18th, 2008 at 6:15 PM
The start of another week. Yay. Anywhoooo. So, when I got outside this morning, it was actually pretty warm outside.. considering it's still winter.

My English teacher changed our class room last week so now we're permanently in the E building instead of N. And I don't like the change at all. Ya, the room's better. But I don't like the fact that it's in the E building. I liked it better when I was in the N buiding since my locker's in N. Oh well. I'll have to get used to it being in E now.

Maps and mapping was my second class. We just took notes. And then it was break! XD Went off to the K lockers and joined the rest of the gang that was there. I tried to work on my French homework but was disturbed by like everyone that was there. XD And of course, Kelly, Jason took my phone again! As long as he gives it back...

And I got to see my Kelly today! My wonderful black-eyed, drugged-up chipmunk. And she had pills with her. One of which was penicillin that Lindsay had to stay away from as she is allergic.

Supper's ready, off I go!

U.S. Postal Service

  • Feb. 17th, 2008 at 2:07 PM
Just got this as a forward in my email. Enjoy! :D

This is one of the kindest things I've ever experienced. I have no way
to know who sent it, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead
letter office of the US postal service.

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my
4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she
missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that
when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I
thought we could so she dictated these words:

Dear God,

Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with
you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have
her as my dog even though she got sick.

I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to
swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her. You will know
that she is my dog. I really miss her.

Love, Meredith.

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith
and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it.
Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope
because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the
way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the
post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter
yet. I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front
porch addressed, 'To Meredith , ' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith
opened it.  Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.'
Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in
its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey &
Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I
recognized Abbey right away.

Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays
in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our
bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so
I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have
something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you
write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I
picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.

By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.

Love,
God

Awww. I wanted to see if this was a real story and not just another chain letter. Turns out, it really is true! You can read more here.

Joke

  • Feb. 17th, 2008 at 11:44 AM
Here's a joke I got in a newsletter today:

0 to 200 in 6 Seconds

Bob was in trouble as he'd forgot his wedding anniversary and his wife was extremely upset.

She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in six seconds!"

The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up she looked out the window and, sure enough, there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.

Confused, the wife put on her robe, ran out to the driveway, and brought the box back in the house.

She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

Bob has been missing since Friday.

UB and gym

  • Feb. 6th, 2008 at 11:01 PM
I actually went to bed last night at 11pm. O_O Wow. I had like 7 hours of sleep last night. Amazing! Lol.

Anyways, I guess I was running late this morning cause I missed the 22 bus. I had to wait like 20 minutes for the next bus. It should have been the 17 but it never showed up. Thank goodness for the 19. After I got off the train, I missed the 171 bus by a couple of seconds. I ended up making it to my first class with 2 minutes to spare. Phew.

After taking notes in psych class, I went back to my locker to get my notebook for my next class and my gym clothes for gym after UB. I ended up chilling with Sandra for half an hour before my maps and mapping class (cue laughter from Kelly). Took notes in that class too. But that class has been easy so far.

UB! Alone time with Sandra, lol. We spent almost 2 hours just the two of us. Ya. My class ended early at 11:30 so we went right away to the caf and I bought linguini and she got penne. And we both got garlic bread! When we found a classroom to eat, we started to talk about random stuff, trying to keep ourselves entertained. At one point, I was talking about the garlic bread at school. I was like 'I love the garlic bread here, except when I get an end piece'. After I said that, I picked up my piece of garlic bread and flipped it over... only to find out it was an end piece! Irony. Fun. Around 1 I think, we both went in search of Kelly and her Robotics meeting. Her meeting finally ended and we bought stuff from the caf (I got chocolate milk!) We then headed up to the K lockers to hang out for 15 minutes before our classes.

Gym class was fun! I can't believe I just said that, lol! We headed out first thing to do our walk and I once again hung out with Gavi (I thought her name was Gaby but I was wrong... it sounds the same though!). We had fun just laughing about the silliest things. When we got back, we did more exercises. What did we do today? Hmmm.... something called the Superman. And Doggie legs (LMAO). We did dips. And squat jumps. And side planks. Andddd.... what else? I can't remember... oh, push ups again! And bicycle crunches. I think that might be it... not sure. Anywho, after that we did theory and then we were done. Gavi and I walked together to my locker and then she had to leave for her next class. I actually have a good time in gym with her. If I hadn't made friends with her, I'm sure I'd be having a miserable time in gym. But I actually really like the class and feel good afterwards with all the exercise I did! XD I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow...

I barely made the train this afternoon too. Anywho, when I got on, I couldn't believe it. Every single seat was taken and people were actually standing up. I've been using the trains since August, and not once, not once, has the afternoon trains been this busy. I couldn't believe it! Did everyone decide to take that train?

~Lindsay

Tuesday!

  • Feb. 5th, 2008 at 10:20 PM
Definitely didn't want to get up this morning. When I got to the train station, I felt sort of dizzy and light-headed... probably since I was hungry and hadn't eaten anything. But, by the time I got off the train and was walking to the 171 bus, I felt better.. and more awake! XD

First class was QM in the computer lab. Uber easy today. We just had to click a bunch of buttons, creating a graph and print it out. Then answer questions. Staple all papers together and hand in. I was the first person that was finished and we're allowed to leave when we're done. Yay! ^_^

Then, I had like a 2 hour break. Headed over to A3 where I would meet Kelly before her 10 o'clock class. When she arrived, she surprised me with Naruto! Two of them! :D While she was in class, I put my music on and read. I somehow managed to finish both within an hour and a half. Speed reader I am! :D

Last class was Anthro. of Supernatural. Didn't do that much. Just went back into our little groups from last Thursday and finished an assignment. At the end of class, we just went over answers and discussed. Then I was done! :D

About two hours later, I was home and ate lunch. I have to remember to bring a bigger snack next Tuesday. All I brought was 3 Oreo cookies and that just did not hold me over. XD

I'm actually going to go to bed early tonight. *shock* As soon as I press 'post', I'm gonna shut down my computer and get some well-deserved sleep. Me needs it. I've only gotten 4 hours for the last two nights. And I have gym tomorrow so I need all the strength and energy I can get! I am gonna be sore again tomorrow, I'm sure. Hopefully the weather's nice for walking tomorrow afternoon! *keeps fingers crossed*

~Lindsay

P.S. Hope you feel better soon, Kelly!

Monday morning...

  • Feb. 4th, 2008 at 11:52 PM
I totally didn't want to get up this morning. When my alarm went off, I just laid in bed for like 3 more minutes before I finally got my butt out of bed. My legs are still sore this morning from yesterday. I had to work on Sunday from 10-2. That's 4 hours running around the back of the restaurant doing dishes. I really got hot back there doing that....

Anywho.... I had a test first thing this morning in English on 'Night' by Elie Wiesel. I've already read the book twice in high school. Another time now with this class. And then I decided last night I wanted to re-read the book before class just to refresh my memory since I finished reading the book sometime last week. So, I ended up reading 20 pages last night. Then, by some miracle, I was able to finish the rest of the 115-page book by my 8 o'clock class. :D Jeez, I'm one fast reader! XD As soon as the teacher arrived, he handed out the test. After we were all done, he passed the tests back out. We each got someone else's paper and we then spent the rest of the class correcting and going over it.

I had Maps and Mapping afterwards (yes, Kelly, it's your time to laugh now!). Then I had break! Headed over to the K lockers where I found Kelly, Alex, Jason... and a bunch of other people! Hung around with everyone till 1. Kelly and I both had French class so we had to depart. Up to E512 I went. French passed by rather quickly.

So, I told my dad yesterday to come pick me up at the train station at 3:30. So, I get off the train and head over to Uniprix across the street where my dad usually picks me up. 'Cept, I don't see his car. O_O Oh no. So, I call him up and ask him where he is. He replies that he's at the train station... in Ste. Therese. Oops. When he finally gets back to Rosemere and picks me up, he blames it on the fact that there was a "communication error". Lol. Next time, I'll have to be very specific and make sure he understands which train station it is. XD

Things to wonder about...

  • Feb. 2nd, 2008 at 5:14 PM
(Second entry in one day! Lol)

I got this in a newsletter a couple of days ago. Thought I'd share it here.

Did You Ever Wonder?

- Can you cry under water?

- How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

- If money doesn't grow on trees then why do banks have branches?

- Since bread is square, then why is sandwich meat round?

- Why do you have to "put your two cents in"...but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

- Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?

- Why does a round pizza come in a square box?

- How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

Lots and lots of snow!

  • Feb. 2nd, 2008 at 12:25 PM

Wow, did Quebec get hit badly with snow yesterday!

I got up like usual for school and the weather seemed fine. It was cold like usual with a slight wind, but nothing that bad. Now, I didn't know it was supposed to snow yesterday, so I was in my own little happy world.... until, dun dun dun. I finished my last class and I headed down to the first floor to go over to the N building. As soon as I opened the door, I couldn't believe my eyes. There were like buckets of snow falling down. And just a couple of hours earlier, the path to N was completely clear but now, it was filled with snow and slush. *sigh*

My dad ended up picking me up from the Ste-Therese train station and when we got home, I couldn't believe how much snow there was! And it just kept snowing and snowing! I had to leave for work after 5, and the snow had piled up a couple of more inches since I had last been outside. It was unbelievable! XD Usually it takes like 5 minutes to get to the restaurant, but last night, it took like 10-15 minutes. It was crazy.

The only good thing about the snow yesterday was that I got to leave work early. At like 6:50, my boss, Bob, came in and told me I could leave at 7 since there was like nobody in at the restaurant. Yay! Before I left though, I had to clear something up with him about my paycheck. I was only paid for 25 hours when I had worked 35 1/4. So, we finally figured out that Bob hadn't counted the first week I had worked. I had done 10 hours over three days. Bob wrote a note down on the paper to pay me an extra 10 1/4 hours. Yay, everything's fixed! :D

Off now for lunch. *stomach grumbles* After lunch, I'm planning on cleaning the house and stuff. My dad's gone till 3 because of work. And tomorrow, he's working from 7-4 and I'll be working from 10 in the morning till sometime after lunch. So, I have the house to myself all weekend! :D What should I do... what should I do.... come to my house, Kelly! We'll have a party!! :D

P.S. The Canadian groundhogs didn't see their shadow this morning and that means an early spring! Yay! Hopefully this proves true because I miss the grass and the sun. The funny thing is, the American groundhog saw his shadow so America gets winter for another six weeks. Interesting...

Sore...

  • Jan. 31st, 2008 at 8:59 PM

Jeez, am I exhausted! I had gym class yesterday. First time in 2 and a half years. It was alright at first. On the way outside, a girl and I began talking. Yay, I had a gym partner! :D Anywho, so we get outside. The teacher told us we were going to take a very short walk because of the weather. And anywho that was in Montreal yesterday would know about the weather. Anyways, as we were walking along, there was this sudden strong gust of wind and Gaby, the girl, fell down. I tried to steady myself from the wind but I tripped over Gaby's leg and fell down. And this morning I found a nice bruise on my right kneecap! Lol. Anywho, about 20 minutes later, we finally got back to the gym... and warmth. And then the real fun began, lol.

Back in the gym, the pain began. We first did one set of 10 push-ups. And then we did 15 squats. Another set of push-ups, another set of squats. Guess what? Then we did another set of both push-ups and squats. I was already exhausted by that point, but did we stop? Nope, the pain continued. I think we then did curl-ups, and then lunges. Another set of curl-ups and lunges. And yet another set of curl-ups and lunges. We balanced on our legs and did side crunches. And then we had to do a front plank (I think that's what it was called). What seemed like an eternity, we finally did stretching and we finished the class!

I already felt the pain yesterday as I walked back to my locker. But this morning, it was even worse. My legs hurt, my upper arms hurt, my lower back hurt, my neck hurt. I felt like I had been beat up or something. And I realised tonight, that I'm working tomorrow. That will be fun. Working while being sore. Yay. At least tomorrow's Friday and then it's the weekend! :D

P.S. Lost finally started again tonight! I haven't watched an episode since last May. It's been almost a year. And it's nearly at the end and it's been an emotional roller coaster. (If anyone watches Lost, they'll understand). And then they just threw in a sad part *wipes tears* RIP Charlie (I know you're still alive! You'll be back!)

Heath Ledger

I'm still in complete shock. Around 5, I was on the MSN homepage, I clicked on one of the links to read a story and when I clicked back, I noticed the top story had changed. And what I saw shocked me. Heath Ledger was found dead. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. I feel the same way when Steve Irwin had died. I was in complete shock and disbelief. Here's two links with the story:

Happy Holidays

  • Dec. 30th, 2007 at 6:03 PM

Happy holidays y'all! I have arrived safely in Florida! :D I suppose I shall tell of my wonderful adventures getting to Florida. So, Monday morning, I got up at 8. Yuck. I had finished packing the night before, go me! Got to the airport a bit after 10 I think. When we got to the check-in, the lady told me it would be better if I took an earlier flight to Toronto so I would have more time there to do stuff. Plus, when I got there, I would have to pick up my luggage and check it in again. I thought it would be done for me, but I guess not. So, I got the earlier flight that left at 11, instead of 12. So, I said goodbye to my daddy and left for the airport security. Got through with no problems and made my way to the right gate. I went to the bathrrom before boarding the plane. Holy crap, you should have seen the first class seats. They were like pods. No joke. Check it out here. I so wanted to sit in one. Out of all the airplanes I've been on, I've never seen one like that. Anywho, my seat was right behind first class. Yay. The flight didn't take long. It felt like we took off and seemed like 10 minutes later, we were landing again.

Aha, now comes the funny part. Or the stupidity of Lindsay. XD So, the lady from the first airport in Montreal told me that when I got off the airplane, I had to follow the American connections signs that would lead me to my luggage. So, I followed the signs and found the baggage claim area. Or, what I thought it was. So, I found the place where the suitcases would come from the flight I was just on. So, I was standing there for about 30 minutes. Everyone else that was there got their luggage. Hmmmm. After awhile, I went up to this desk because I just heard a message that was said over the intercom system. It said that if you had an American connection, the luggage was in this other area. I asked the guy at the desk where the area was. Turned out to be up 2 stories. Ya, fun, fun. I finally, finally, found the right area and quickly found my luggage. I then went through Customs and brought my luggage to check-in. Went through airport security again and found my gate. About 10 minutes later, I was finally able to board. Once again, my seat was right behind first class. Lol.

Got off the plane safely in Florida and found my mom and sister about five minutes later. It was so nice and warm when we got outside!! XD I miss the sunshine... and grass... and palm trees... and the sun. Did I mention that? XD

Chrsitmas was the next day. Since I went to bed so late because I was chatting to Kelly (hope you enjoyed your breakfast at 2 in the morning, Kelly!), I got up at like 11 on Christmas. I eneded up then eating lunch soon after. And then we started to open our presents sometime after that. I got lots of clothes and such. And then the biggest present I got from my mom was this thing called a Fly Fusion Pentop Computer. And it's sooo weird, cause, I download and listen to these Discovery podcasts, and one that I enjoy a lot is one called the Friday Feedbag with three guys that work for Discovery. And each week, two of the guys tell three stories each that they find interesting. And like, 2 weeks ago, one of the guys was talking about this pen. It was so weird that I actually got it for Christmas. XD

In the late afternoon, we went over to Doug's house for Christmas. We opened up more presents. I got this s'more kit from Molson (their dog, lol), chocolate from Justin (Godiva chocolate btw), this awesome Piratology book from Amy, and a Jack Sparrow pillow from Sarah. And then my last present was from Doug and JoAnn. It was a freaking iPod Touch. O_O No wayyyyyy!!! XDDDD Yes, as I was unwrapping, I was like holy crap, holy crap, omg, omg. I thought it was funny. But I find everything funny, soooo. Anyways, yes, I was happy! XD

Hmmmm, since Christmas, I've just been sleeping in and doing lots of things, nothing much to mention though. Although, yesterday, I was finally able to go to Fujiyama's!! I had wanted to go as soon as I got to Florida. Ahem. But I couldn't. *cough* It's been more than six months that I've been to Fujiyama's. I almost forgot what the shrimp tasted like. Lol.

And omg, like, yesterday, I ended up staying on my computer till 5:30. In the morning. Ya. That's the longest I've ever stayed awake. I had found this website, actually, I found many, on how to hack into your iPod Touch so you can get all the applications on the iPhone. So, that's what I did. Now, my iPod Touch is basically an iPhone except that I can't use it as a phone or a camera, duh. But everything else, I've got on mine. XD I was all giddy last night when it worked. And it was so freakin' simple. XD Nonetheless, I felt smart last night... er, this morning. XD XD

That's all for now! Hope you're having a freakin' awesome time in Fort Lauderdale, Kelly! We have GOT to see each other before you leave. :D

~Lindsay

P.S. I think I'm gonna try to go to bed early tonight. Lol, let's see if that works out. *rolls eyes*
